Children’s faces are growing and developing quickly, by the time the child is 5 years old the face is 70% grown, by age 12 the mid-face is 100% grown. So the “window for intervening” if growth is not proceeding normally is short !
Why would you wait for 90% of the deformity to establish?

If any of the above list has ticked a few boxes re your child ,then it is important to bring your child to a Dentist or Orthodontist who is trained to deal with the problems of Poor facial growth. He or she may be able to advice you ,on the best course of treatment appropriate for the age of the child.
We encourage all parents to bring their child along for a free examination and chat, but in order to do a comprehensive treatment plan, we normally require X-rays, (Lateral skull and panoramic), impressions for study casts, photographs of face, teeth and body posture.
Once we have all these records, a full written treatment plan is discussed with parents and child.
It is very important that everyone fully understands the treatment proposed and the costs involved, as any course in orthodontic treatment requires a commitment from all parties concerned.

We knew how long it was going to take and what exactly was involved.
