I went to Tony initially 3 years ago, after experiencing a lot of pain in my jaw, he deducted that I had a TMJ issue, and he introduced me to myofunctional therapy. After 2 weeks the pain was completely gone, amazing. He also straightened out my teeth via daemon braces, now I am pain free and have a nice smile

From my initial consultation to my continuing check-up appointments, I have always found Tony, Emily and Bridget to be extremely helpful and always friendly. As an adult, I was initially apprehensive and self-conscious about wearing braces, but I was encouraged by Tony’s enthusiasm and thorough explanation of what I could achieve via orthodontic treatment. My treatment was a huge success, and I am amazed by the results that were achieved in less than a year. I would definitely recommend the practice!

I can highly recommend Tony O'Connor's Dental Surgery to all! I spent many of my childhood years going to dentists & orthodontists but I was never really happy with the final outcome. At the age of 30 and due to get married the following year, I made contact with Tony in the hope of finally sorting out my teeth. Well I have never looked back since....Tony did fantastic orthodontal treatment on me and I had beautiful straight sparklers within 12 months. Honestly he was simply fantastic, he always gave me such time & attention and he was just lovely to deal with. In addition to Tony, his staff Emily & Brigid were also extremely supportive & helpful. Although I am over the moon with my teeth now, Tony continues to offer me appointments to ensure long term results & satisfaction. If I haven't said it clearly enough already, I would HIGHLY recommend Tony O'Connor's Dental Surgery to anyone who wants the best of dental/orthodontal care that you can get.

The braces I had when I was 12 years of age pulled my teeth over the mid-line to cover a gap which a missing tooth had left. The gap had widened again, but worse, my jaw was clicking when chewing and I felt tension in my left side of the neck and even into the shoulders and down to my left hip. As a Feldenkrais (Awareness Through Movement) teacher I realized that something was structurally misaligned. I went for a consultation with Tony who having thoroughly assessed my teeth, palate and jaw and their functioning and also let me know that I had a tongue-tie. I’m not someone who takes decisions spontaneously, but after the first consultation I knew that my concerns would be addressed here with sensitivity and the best of professional support. I also realized that Tony had a keen interest in most recent developments in dentistry It was a challenge for me, now in my 50s, to embark on this journey. But I remembered how I had accompanied my children to their orthodontic treatments and decided that in a similar way I would look after my own health as well. There were several stages - my tongue-tie was released, then I got Myofunctional Instruction from Bridget, learning how to better use my tongue and jaw. I got an alf appliance to widen the jaw, then braces to align the teeth. Somewhere along the journey the jaw stopped clicking and my left shoulder and hip were not painful. And yesterday a new tooth got set in. Every step was taken carefully and I was given the time necessary to adjust to the changes. I realised soon that this dentist’s surgery was a special place, in that the team of Tony, Bridget and Emily work together closely. Every step was monitored and coordinated between them and I felt that they had my well-being as patient and person at their heart. I’m so glad that I trusted them and can only say that their enthusiasm, dedication and professional care was so very genuine. I’m off now to practice my smile!

My experience in the O Connor dental health was pleasent. As a person who is nervous about visiting the dentist i felt very relaxed both in the waiting room and on the chair.Over the years i have attended a few different dentists and this has been the one practice where i felt relaxed and at ease due to the care of the staff. Before my procedures it was explained to me by the staff what to expect and i found this helped put me at ease. For any one who is nervous of visiting the dentists i would strongly recommend this practice.

Delighted to recommend O'Connor Dental Health. I have had issues with my right temporo-mandibular joint (TMJ) for a number of years - frequent clicking and episodes of pain associated with reduced range of motion at the joint as well as frequent episodes of tinnitus and ear pain. I am a doctor and had researched the condition in detail and understand that it is frequently misdiagnosed as well as ineffectively treated. I was reluctant to go down the surgical route for TMJ dysfunction and was thrilled to find an expert in this complex condition in my locality as it is frequently misunderstood and very difficult to manage. The practice itself is warm and welcoming with exceptionally friendly staff. After a thorough dental and orthodontic history was taken a dental exam was performed and the cause of my TMJ dysfunction was fully explained. Dr O'Connor has trained in Functional Jaw Orthopaedics and Myofunctional Therapy which is concerned with the process of encouraging the upper and lower jaw to grow to their correct shape and position thereby allowing the teeth to grow as they should and not crowd. I had had orthodontic treatment for impacted adult canine teeth which required surgery and braces 6 years ago. I now understand that because of impacted adult teeth my upper jaw failed to grow to it's correct size and because of that my lower jaw is in effect slightly too large which has caused crowding of my lower teeth and has had a knock on effect in that it has caused problems with the positioning of my TMJ. I am very satisfied with the diagnosis and explanation of my symptoms given to me and thrilled with the treatment plan I have been given (exercises based on myofunctional principles as well as a night time splint to wear) and would recommend this practice highly.

Firstly I was in a car crash a few years back and had my front teeth knocked out and could never afford to properly get them fixed. The price of the orthodontic treatment was very reasonable so I made an appointment. But what got me to go ahead with the treatment was the kindness and friendliness of the staff at at this practice. My teeth needed straightening first. By the time the damon braces where put on it only took 7 months for tony to straighten them. I was shocked at how little time it took. I had a terrible habit of always blocking my mouth when I talked or laughed. Tony has changed that now. The day the braces came off was one of the most amazing experiences I've ever felt. I was happier than I could have imagined. It has given me my confidence back and I will be forever grateful for that. On top of it all it was minimal pain throughout. My teeth where always handled with care.

My daughter needed orthodontic treatment. Tony did a very comprehensive plan for my daughter and went through it with me and my daughter in great detail before he began the treatment. We knew how long it was going to take and what exactly was involved. What I liked about Tony was, he was so enthusiastic himself about the treatment and took great pride in getting it right, tweaking a bit here and there to make sure he got the best result. He explained everything to my daughter and encouraged her through the treatment. Tony does not just look at the teeth but also the shape of her mouth and the overall look. What comes across from Tony is that he is passionate about his work and he wants the best results. There is a lovely atmosphere in Tony's surgery which made my daughter relaxed. Emily, Tony's assistant is lovely and very supportive, she is also very organised, she talked away all the time which made my daughter relaxed. I would highly recommend Tony and his team, he is a genuine, passionate and meticulous about his work and a very nice person as well. My daughter has a lovely smile and my younger daughter can't wait to start her treatment as she sees the fantastic results of Tony's work and can't wait to have the same fantastic smile.

It's been almost 4 months since I completed my orthodontic treatment and has been one of the best decisions i've ever made. As a 36 year old male it took me quite some time to go about having something done about my self-conscious smile and the underlying issues that led to crooked teeth and breathing issues. Having braces fitted is only part of the treatment at O'Connor Dental; exercises for the tongue and muscles that surround the mouth and face all played an important part along with the follow up and aftercare that followed. The total care and corresponding treatments is what differentiates this orthodontic treatment from the rest. Since completing treatment with Tony, Bridget and team I can absolutely say that I'm delighted with the results and could not recommend O'Connor Dental highly enough.

I used Tony O'Connor dental health recently to get my teeth straightened. It was a big decision as I was in my 30's! The team there did a fantastic job and are a professional, efficient and obliging group of people. I was delighted with the results and I return regularly for checkups and cleaning. I would highly recommend them to anyone thinking of undergoing similar procedures or for all round dental care.

I have been attending Tony O Connor Surgery for approx the last 10-12 years. I have always received great care and have always been very happy with the service I receive. Tony, Bridget, and Emily all are extremely friendly and act in a most professional manner. It eases the pain of going to the dentist! I have recommended Tony to family and friends, and would have no hesitation in doing so again.

My son Shaun attended our dentist Tony O’Connor from an early age. Tony recommended that Shaun would benefit from orthopaedic/orthodontic treatment at an early age as his bones would be much softer therefore a better result would be promised. As a nurse myself I understood what was been explained but it was all very new to me. I went away to consider all this new and upcoming treatment. A lot of my friend’s children were having orthodontic treatment but no one was having it done the way Tony explained. It made perfect sense to me and I felt I could trust Tony which I feel is so important when it is your child’s health is concerned. Shuan commenced his dental programme at the age of 8 years. He wore a couple of different devices to enlarge his upper palate and push his lower jaw forward thus allowing for the severely overcrowded teeth room to straighten and grow correctly. The devices Shaun used were easy for a child to use and he took control of care and maintenance very quickly better then I as an adult could do. Time passed and Tony introduced the myobrace when Shaun was 10 years old at this stage one could see a huge improvement. The myobrace is basically like a gum shield for both the upper and lower teeth. Shaun is now 12 and has been wearing the myobrace for two years at night. His teeth are fantastic; he has a good strong jaw. He will not have to wear “Traintracks”,which is wonderful. I feel both Shaun and I were very blessed to have met Tony O’Connor at no stage during this journey did I regret starting this treatment. In fact it was painless and easy.
