What are Fissure Sealants?
This is a sealant placed on the top surface of a tooth, and is usually used to protect the first permanent molar teeth in children. Fissure Sealants are usually placed once all permanent first molars have erupted fully around 8 years of age.
Why are Fissure Sealants needed?
Fissure sealants are very helpful in preventing tooth decay in the childs first permanent molars. Normally fissure sealants are placed by the School Dentist as part of the Free School Dental Service, luckily this service is also available at this practice.
How much do fissure sealants cost?
Currently we charge €20 per tooth for fissure sealants. If you have require a large number of sealants talk to us regarding a price.
